The Sims is a video game purchased by people of all ages. It is an amusing game played on the computer that allows you to create a character and the life they life (house, career, friends, spouse, etc). This game attracts many people because unlike real life, you have the capability to make “your life” however you want it and control every aspect. Correct, the trailer’s ultimate goal is to get the public to purchase the game. The trailer in itself may be an intermediate goal because you are getting a little taste of what the whole game may be like. Also if the game is displayed out on the Walmart’s electronics and give people access to play can be an intermediate goal. Those two examples are little steps to accomplishing the main desire, which is to get the public to purchase this game. In the trailer it shows a couple getting married with all different kinds of characters at the wedding (Elvis, a polar bear, a nurse, doctor and more). Then it goes to the newly weds home and they are quickly changed into all different cloths as the man asks his wife how the honeymoon was. As the characters change clothes it seems as if the people change to. They possibly could be changing from the Sims characters to real life people because the girl’s response was, “Dude it’s just a game” and then she tells the audience to embrace themselves. The trailer is hoping to show you what a fun and addicting game Sims is, that’s why the audience must “embrace”.
The Sims game is a fun and exciting experience, of people creating their dream life, and how they would like to really live possibly. I played this game when I was younger, sometimes for 5 hours straight it's that intriguing. I think the way this game attracts people is because it looks so real. And in the actual trailer it shows of a couple getting married and the characters actually crying, like its that realistic looking. So, I think many people of different age groups would really enjoy this game.
The differences of the game life and the real life is that everything looks fun all the time in the game life. But, in the real life the girl is like it's only a game when the guy wished it could be that way. So, maybe it would be better to live the game life because everything is how you want it to be. This statement supports the trailers theme of the game because in this game you play exactly how you want to play it, there isn't like certain set rules except just live your life.
I don't think the trailers goal is explicit, this video game clearly can be played throughout various ages.
1. I’m not sure that I totally understand the meaning of intermediate goals, but from my understanding I think the main one of this video would be that of the game world vs. the real world. They started off in the game world so it looked awesome and then ended in the real world so it wouldn’t look as cool. I think this makes the ultimate goal possible by showing the different levels of fun between worlds. This also shows that you can do whatever you want in the Sims world because there are no rules and you get to control anything and everything.
I have already told what the trailer showed and why I think they done this.
2. The Sims game at the beginning of the video game shows that there are no rules in their world and that you can do whatever you want, create outrageous characters, and act in inappropriate ways without consequence. A couple gets married while demonstrating this and then they step through a door into the real world. Its then that the rules and consequences come back into play. The Sims seems totally better than our world because who wants to live by rules that restricts what they can do? Who doesn’t want a chance to control everything little thing that they have ever thought about? This supports the trailers goals because it makes people of all ages want to buy this game and just play it for hours at a time. When they expand and upgrade their product then of course people are going to buy it because they can control everything.
3. The trailers goals are implicit because there’s not a voice that just comes right out and says buy our Sims game. They create a situation that implies you should buy it for fun. I think keeping your goals implicit can be better in some cases because it leaves interpretation for people to think whatever they want to.
1.EA Game's Sims presents various intermediate goals to get you to the ultimate goal, buying the game. They show you tons of fun things to do for example having Elvis wed you or inviting a polar bear to your wedding. The intermediate goal of controlling everything in a "fake" world is what they use to get you to buy the game. By showing you the polar bear and Elvis they are trying to get you to think that "hey, that looks fun!!"
2.The Sims video game has polar bears, Elvis, and other things you wouldn't see or expect in a normal wedding, or even life experience. You have the opportunity to marry whoever you want or do whatever you want. In the real world they make it bland with the boring white background. Also, they make the people very average and not as fun as the cool Sims people. The Sims world seems a lot better and a whole lot more fun. The fact that you can control everything really supports the whole fun factor. The trailor supports the goals by showing a fun experience and is making you want to buy the game instead of having a boring life.
3.The goals are implicit. By just showing the fun things you can do or control makes you think that it might be a fun game. After thinking about it you might want to go out and actually buy the game. By keeping the goals implicit it allows anyone to view the commercial as they please. Instead of being direct, the implied "hey you might like this", really makes people want to buy the game.
1.The Sims video game is created for people of all ages. Creators of Sims wants everyone to play it online or purchase the game. It allows individuals to create their own personality and life just like the way they want it. This is the ultimate goal of the the trailer.
The trailer actually shows people how the game is played and what kind of different characters or life can be created and how fun it is. But at the end, it is just a game as what the girl stated when the guy ask her about their honeymoon. So the life on the Sims Video Game is just computer creation and never real.
2. At the beginning the couple's life was very exciting and everyone was happy except for this one guy who was crying. I don't know maybe he was too happy for the wedding. Than the polar bear that caught the flower boquet and ate it. At the end, the girl told the guy that it was just a game. This is when they are back into real life. But the way they change quickly into human form creates a cool scene for those addicted to video games. The life of the computer creation is much better and the trailer wants its audience to be attractive to that.
3. I think the trailer's goal is implicit because it is about creation in a video game that isn't real at all and never clear. It is better to be implicit so you can leave an audience hanging just like a really good book.
The Sims itself is a make up reality video game that everyone can create the people's lives in the game whatever they want them to be, be popular or famous. You can make up anywhere they can live, any who they can be, poor or rich, pick who to date or marry, even if you want to create people's lives to be wasted whatever you like to make. I guess the Sims is created for everyone to get idea if that can happen to our lives but in unreality. In trailer, it shows that two people play as wedding and image many people to be polar bear or Elvis (not only these two but more there you can identify that is impossible or is it?) and these people are not really married! However these people seem like they are having fun with this kind of video game so they encourage to try one and see for yourself! I once had one and it is actually fun so you can see that is working on people to buy one!
The Sims is an interactive game that has to change frequently to keep their audience interested and to gain new players along the way. Their game eventually get boring once the player wins, thus having the need to make one or two new, better versions each year, otherwise sales decline. The imediate goal for this Sims game would have to be to entice the viewer to purchase the new game. Inticing the reader is not an easy goal, but by showing intersting segments (such as the wedding in this trailor) the job beceomes easier. This trailor involves a lot of color to catch the viewers attention. One the viewer becomes interested in the game the viewers will be more willing to purchase the game (the ultimate goal of this commercial). The trailer tries to tell everyone that watches how fun and exciting this game is. In the commercial the two Sims characters turn back into real life, the boy has gotten so worked up over the events that occured online the boy channeled them in real life. What Sims is trying to demonstrate with that occurence is that the Sims games is so enthrolling that the player cannot help themselves from becoming worked up over the situations, and in this case it was love. This trailor tried to reach the viewer to purchase the game, and through their persuasive devises, the company managed to achieve their ultimate goal and their imtermidate goals.
1. Some intermediate goals to acheive their ultimate goal could be making that advertisement itself. By showing you some aspects of the game it draws you in to wanting to buy it. Advertising is very important because if you don't know it's out there, or what it is when you see it, then you will have no need to buy it. On the tutorial it shows a wedding but with a bunch of unusual charcters in it. It shows what kind of things you can do in the game and what kind of control you have over the game.
2. The world at the beggining is the game world and it is whatever you want it to be. You can control all the aspects in it and make it whatever you want. The world at the end is the "real world". In the real world you don't have the same kind of control as you do in the game as it shows when the guy got shot down by the girl. The obvious on which is better is the game one because you can have whatever you want. By showing you that it would make you want to buy the game so you could have that control over the life in the game.
3. The goals of the trailer are implicit because it doesn't come right out and say buy the game. It shows how the game is fun and that should entice you to buy the game. That's more effective than saying "the game is fun you should buy it", because it shows you why the game is fun.
1. The intermediate goal that might make this ultimate goal possible is to create your dream world. Since you can't see what is inside of the house at the end of the trailer, they make you want to get the game to see what happens next. The steps on the way to getting people to buy the game would be to see what their dream world would be like in the future such as where I want to get married, where do I want to go on my honeymoon, and where do I want to live. It shows you a made up world. You get to see what your dream world would be like but at the end it is not actually the real world. The people that made the trailer showed us this trailer because they want you to buy the game
2. The difference between The Sims video game world at the beginning of the trailer is what the real video game looks like compared to the trailer at the end which looks like real life people. I think that the beginning is better because it is more of a video game. It shows that the guy and the girl got married at the beginning of the trailer and at the end of the trailer it shows that they are both happy and on their honeymoon. But at the end it's reality. They make fantasy look better than reality because they want to get you to buy the game.
3. The trailer's goals are implicit because it is all about creating your dream world. Keeping your goals implicit is better in some cases because it is an interpretation of what the video game looks like in The Sims. The goals also might be implied so that the buyer can make his/her own thoughts about what the goals might be and why they would want to buy the game.
The intermediate goal of the trailor is to get you to recognize the girl and that playing the game might get you that girl.
The trailor shows you what you can do in the game and it does this because they want you to ultimatley buy the game. The world in the beginning seems to be colorful and fun and a nice place to be as opposed to the real world where the creators make it seem blan and not as fun. The sims world looks better because the producers want you to think that the sims world is better than real life to get you to buy the game. I believe the trailors goals are implicit becuase they never tell you to buy the game out right but you know thats what the creators want you to do. Being implicit helps because if you tell a person to just buy something they wont do it, but if you convince them they need something through underlying messages they will feel that they made a good decision.
1. The Sims is merely a digital game of life. You get to create people, homes, and design the person’s lifestyle. The trailer shows a glimpse of the game with characters such as Elvis and polar bears at a wedding. Seems unrealistic, but that is the point of the game to be creative and have unlimited possibilities. The trailer achieves their intermediate goal by showing you a preview of the absurdities, and the extensive make-up of the game; i.e. Elvis and a polar bear. The trailer shows you all of this to entice you to want to see more, or buy more in this case, with a small piece of footage from the game. Therefore, the trailer achieves their ultimate goal in the end with the preview.
2. The Sims video game world and the real world footage at the end of the trailer differ due to reality and ‘play-time’, or make-believe. The Sims footage shows you unrealistic events, like Elvis marrying you, and a polar bear at your wedding. The ending footage shows the guy asking, “So, how about that honeymoon?” and the girl replying, “Dude it’s just a game.” The beginning of the trailer seems more fun, exciting and imaginative. Whereas, the end of the trailer shows how real life is not that exciting, and to realize that it’s only a game. By showing the two contrasting events in the trailer, the trailer supports its goals in making the game appealing to buy.
3. The trailer’s goals are implicit throughout the beginning of the trailer when showing all of the imaginative events. Then, toward the end the goal turns slightly explicit when the girl tells the guy that it is just a game, and warns you to be careful that The Sims are real.
Keeping your goals implicit can often be a better way to portray a meaning, or product to someone in the emotional stance. It touches the person and makes them think, imagine, or believe something rather than being told straight forward with no room for interpretation.
The Sims game is the ultimate life doing whatever you want and having everything. You can make a dream house and get married. This is fun for all ages because as a child you dream of having everything and as an adult you dream of having what you want and how to make it possible and with the game you don’t have to go through all the hard things to get to where you want to be. This is most certainly the ultimate goal.
1. Although the trailor's ultimate goal is to get the viewer to play the Sims, it has several intermediate goals that could help make the ultimate goal possible. One intermediate goal may be to grasp the viewers attention and to pull them in with things in the trailor that seem interesting, such as being able to create the ideal life through the game.
2. The world at the beginning of the trailor is full of exciting things. There are so many things going on that the viewer's attention isn't really focused on one particular thing. Once the guy and girl are inside the setting is very different, it is plain white and the viewer focuses on the girl and guy because there is nothing else in the room. The outdoor world seems better because their is more going on and seems like more fun than the world inside. This supports the trailor's goals by making the viewer believe that the world you can create while playing the Sims is fun and exciting and will therefore intice the viewer to go buy the game.
3. I think the trailor's goals are implicit because the viewer has to kind of assume for themselves what the trailor is trying to say through all of the exciting things going on in the outside world and when the couple goes inside. It may be better to keep your goals implicit sometimes so that your audience can make an assumption and different people may find different meanings if your goals are implicit.
1. In the EA Sports game The Sims some of the intermediate goals to achieve the ultimate goal is to make advertisements. Have demos for the game so that people can get a feel for what the sims really is. The things that the Commercial shows you is only some of the best things that can happen in the game such as seeing elvis, getting married, and having a honey moon.
2. the Sims world seems a lot better than the real world because in The Sims everything happens your way like a fantasy. But, in the real world you get let down and things don't always go your way. It is better for the game trailer because it will make you believe that you can do what ever you want to do.
3. I think that the trailors goals are implicit because the affect of the Sims being that anything is possible but it also warns you at the end that this is game it is not real life so it could also be explict.
Everyone has a dream or an idea of what they think the ideal lifestyle is whether thats having a nice house, car, a family, a career. We want the power to pick and choose how our entire life will plan out and how we want to live. That is what The Sims video game portrays. It allows you to create your ideal lifestyle from the people you hang out with to the career you have. The ultimate goal of the video game trailer is to get you to play the game and let's face it, who wouldn't want to play a game that allows you to be whoever you desire to be? The trailer shows its viewers a wedding in a backyard and then skips to the people in real life. The women at the end says "brace yourself, The Sims are real." The trailer shows this because they want you to see that you can control what your character does in the game and it feels real because it is real life events.
The Sims game world at the beginning is set at a wedding, full of life, and even has a bear eating the bouquet that the bride threw. They did that to show the viewers that literally anything is possible when you play this game. After the bride and groom are walking away from the wedding, they go through a door and turn into the real people. Behind the dorr is just plain white, nothing going on and when the guy asks the girl about the honeymoon, she pushes him away. Of course, the video game world seems better because the trailers goals is to make the viewer want to be in that Sims world where they can pick the life they live and when the trailer shows the real people, life looks so boring.
I think the goals are implicit because the trailer is not actually saying that the Sims game is better than real life or that real life is so horrible compared to the game. It only shows a situation that looks exciting and fun and something that the viewer might want to be a part of. It might be better in some cases to keep your goals implicit so you do not scare the viewer or readers off by telling them how bad something is but you capture their attention and excitement by simply showing them a side they haven't seen before.
