I thought about choosing my topic about Should Prayer Be Allowed in Public School? This topic interests me because I am a Christian and I pray every night before I go to bed. What I briefly know about this topic is that back in the day they used to have prayer in school but later they banned having prayer in school.

I'm gonna research clothing being a part of the first ammendment right, freedom of speech. It interests me because I think all of our freedoms are very important, but also that in some places and times certain things should be deemed as respectful if not neccasary (as in when and where it's appropriate to say certain things and dress certain ways). I know that there is a supreme court case on the subject and that many schools and jobs require their people to dress a certain way.

I believe the topic I want to pursue is “Is abortion justified in order to save the life of a mother?” I understand this could be a very controversial topic but I think that makes for a good paper. Well people automatically jump on the pro-life band wagon, I think they do not consider the possibility of something influencing the choice of abortion. However, while the situation might seem very rare, it is very real. Mothers have died due to child birth. There are so many argumentative points for this research paper, I am sure that it will keep me interested. Knowing why people think something is right or wrong is really interesting to me. This is a new topic for me, because in high school my teachers wouldn’t let us do these papers due to the sensitivity of others. So my knowledge on this topic is limited but I am positive there is a ton of information on this particular topic.

I am considering the topic of my research paper being anti-fur. This topic interests me because I was watching this show called Janice Dickinsons modeling agency and she had her models watch a video from the PETA organization which is anti-fur. All of the models agreed to go along with their slogan "Rather go naked than wear fur" except for one model. The fact that this girl didn't want to participate in the protest which followed after the viewing of a video from PETA which shows the process animals undergo in order to make fur clothing. I would like to research both sides of this argument to hopefully better understand why that one model still wanted to wear fur.

The topic i intend to research is the affects of gambling addiction. This topic interests me because my brothers and I like to play poker and gamble and it would be interesting to know what the effects of this could possibly end up being. I know a little about addicitons because I've heard stories about professional poker players who ended up in jail.

I have chosen the topic of using stem cells to treat leukemia. This topic interest me because there are so many controversial aspects of stem cells research and I want to know what more about stem cells and what it can do. There are many people that suffer from leukemia but there is no cure for it except being treated from day to day.

I am considering doing my research paper on pediatric cancer in the US. I am not sure if that topic is too general or if I need to narrow it down more but i tried to be very specific. This topic interests me because I am going to become a nurse and anything medical related sparks my interest. I do not know much about the specific details of this topic yet but I know that it is a sad and constant problem and struggle for children.

As far as I know I want to do my research paper on abortion. I know this is a very general topic but I am going to try to narrow it down by researching teen pregnancy abortion and the use of contraception to prevent this problem. This topic interests me because teen pregnancy and abortion is very evident in our society and is an issue that needs to be addressed immediately. I don't know very much about my topic yet but I do know that it is a huge problem in our society and effects many people's lifes.

I have narrowed my possibilities for a research topic down to two debatable and controversial issues.

1. Should the drinking age be lowered to the age of 18?
This topic interest me because I have a lot of friends who drink. To say it is wrong to drink before this age is very debatable because most people think if you are old enough to put your life on the line for your country then you are old enough to have a drink. I also know that there are a lot of college campuses trying to get it lowered because they are getting in trouble for students of 18 year old drinking. If it was lowered then they wouldn't have to worry so much about that. I'm not exactly sure why people don't want to lower it. I obviously have a lot of research to do.

2. Who or what is to blame for America's growing obesity?
I don't know a lot about this topic but it interest me very much. I know people blame fast food and other things.

I know that I definitely want to do my paper on one of these two topics.

I'm not really sure. I would really liks if you could help me decide. But, I was thinking about doing a research paper on whether women should have the right to abortion. This topic is always brought up in the media or just about anywhere you can think of. Especially, in politics at times.

I am considering doing my research paper on how the government uses children (the innocence of or the parent's need to "protect") as a fundamental basis for many governmental policies. This topic interests me because it is something not many people consider, even though there is the constant phrase "Children are our future." I only have a minuscule amount of knowledge on this topic, so researching this would offer me a chance to learn something new.

I have chosen to do my paper on how the government subsidizes corn in our food products that we buy in the grocery store. I am someone who enjoys learning about the food that I am eating and especially when it has to do with the government. I am unsure as to what particular company I want to narrow my research to. I am still deciding. So far, I know that the government subsidizes corn because it is the largest growing crop in the nation and very inexpensive to convert into several products. This topic also has to do with the organic food market, which, I might also look into. I am torn right now with my topic. but I want it to be somewhere within the food market.

Protecting the Yellowstone National Park wolves interests me because I used to research on it when i was senior at Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) last year and I want to research more. Since I am a member of Defenders of Wildlife, I get some news about wolves being removed from Endangered Species Act (ESA) before. However, fortunately they got back in ESA once again. I want to find out why that is happening. Why did the government remove wolves from ESA before? How did wolves return into ESA? These questions are still in my mind a lot.. Yes, wolves are my favorite if you ask...
